Get started

1. Sign in with Google to create a workspace and start the no-card trial.
2. Select a Google Doc, text-based PDF, DOCX, or text file from Drive.
3. Review the imported source text and enter or correct the dates. If optional AI processing is offered, you choose whether to enable it.
4. Verify critical dates against the entire contract and amendments. Choose reminder offsets.
5. Use the dashboard and Activity & delivery view to track deadlines and notification status.

What the pilot supports

Essentials includes 1 user and 50 contracts; Pro includes up to 5 users (including the owner) and 150 contracts. Both support files up to 10 MB, PDFs up to 150 pages, and up to 120,000 extracted characters. Reminder dates use your workspace timezone, which you can change in Branding & preferences. The service checks scheduled reminders approximately once per minute. During the private test, messages remain in the delivery preview until outbound email is enabled.

Working as a team

On Pro, the owner creates an invitation link for a specific Google account and shares it with that colleague. Invitations expire after seven days. Members see and edit shared contracts; only the owner controls billing, membership, branding and assignments. Assign a responsible person and optionally set owner escalation 0–30 days before a verified deadline. Acknowledging a decision stops escalation for that review cycle; ordinary reminders continue. Reports can be exported as CSV.

What needs your judgment

Scanned PDFs need OCR before import. Relative dates, business-day rules, conflicting clauses, amendments, notice delivery requirements, and recurring renewals require human review. We do not automatically infer legally operative deadlines. Other critical dates are captured as notes in this pilot; only renewal and cancellation dates schedule notifications.

When a file or contract changes

The app keeps the text snapshot from import. It does not continuously re-read Drive files. Open the original from the contract screen, update its dates, and verify again. Existing future reminders are replaced with the new schedule. Past reminder offsets are skipped. Renewals never roll forward automatically.

Billing and cancellation

Essentials is $29 USD/month and Pro is $59 USD/month. Both include a 14-day trial without a card. Checkout, when enabled, is hosted by Stripe and shows the amount before purchase. Use Plan & account → Manage billing to update payment details, view invoices, or cancel under the displayed subscription terms. Deleting a contract does not cancel a subscription. No charges occur in demo mode.

Reminder problems

Check that the contract is active, the dates are verified, and reminders appear in Activity & delivery. “Sent” means the email provider accepted a message, not that it reached the inbox. Delivery failures retry up to eight times; an exhausted retry needs support attention. Demo mode creates previews only. Do not use this service as your sole control for a consequential deadline.

Google sign-in or sidebar permissions

Use the same Google account in Drive and TermAhead. If Google repeatedly asks for permission or shows an unable-to-open message, try a separate browser profile signed into only that Google account. Google documents limitations with multiple accounts signed in while using Apps Script add-ons. Your original Drive files remain in place.
